Finding peace in a frantic world
When times are tough, we may experience stress and overwhelm. Some seek inner peace. Others remain stressed and wait for the situation to resolve in order to feel calm. But… What if finding peace in a frantic world by yourself was passible, and for a long time?
Indeed, right now our world watches the difficult crisis on Ukraine, which was attacked by Russia. Further, we see on tv, read on the internet or in the newspapers about the suffering people experience. Additionally, politicians are trying to find a way out of this conflict. It is all difficult to accept and find a solution to. Finally, what came to my mind when I have been going through these emotions myself, was that… these weeks are a mirror to each and all of us. Eventually, they show us, how stable we are, and where we find inner peace.

Origin of Inner Peace
I am Polish, and I live in Poland, which share a border with Ukraine. Essentially, war happens in our neighbouring country. We welcomed millions of refugees from there. They escaped the horrors of war. It all creates a different reality than the one we know from the time before the conflict. It may lead to stress and fear about the future.
The crucial question comes to mind again: what are the ways to have peace of mind?
If you take a calming pill, it helps for a moment, but the stress comes back. Further, when you meet with peacefull friends, or receive a warm hug from a loved one, you feel great and calm, however the stress comes back too. Additionally, the moment you achieve something substancial, earn good money, you again experience joy, but it lasts for a while and the stress may return.

Is there any hope, one may ask?
You see, this was me. I found it difficult to calm down at times, especially during prolonged periods of stress, when I felt that I lost my ground, my feelings of safety, stability, sense of who I was as a person. Moreover, it was difficult to focus at that time. Consequently, I tried to cope with that and took baths, went to the personal development seminars, had a therapist, travelled, read a lot. Yet, still inner balance was a dream to me. Finally, it was not about finding peace in a frantic world, the state of the world had nothing to do with the way I felt. What was it then?
Observe yourself, ask yourself questions
I remember one time thinking about a great foot massage session, with a wonderful specialist Hanna Buzun, that always gave me peaceful feelings. In that moment I was emotionally calm, stable and grounded. Eventually thoughts came to my mind: as I felt so great after the session, what or who gave the feelings to me? Lastly, if the feelings came from the outside, would I remain emotionally stable, when the person who helped me feel good was gone? Furthermore, was I emotionally safe?

The answer was immediate: no.
I realized that it was not the source. It felt wonderful, but it was not where the true ground was.
You are the answer
The truth is obvious and simple. True ground is within you. And you need to find it. It is there. What’s more, it has always been there, but our upbringing, difficulties experienced (like poverty, malnutrition, rejection), heartbreaks, may have shifted our understanding of how to cope with life at times. But… when you find a way, to have inner grounding, your own peace of mind, independent of the outer circumstances, you find home.
So… right now, ask yourself: how do I feel these weeks, and where does my peace of mind and body come from? Am I in my head of heart/body? read more about the difference and its essential importance here in the article”How to calm your mind from overthinking“

Mental peace through exercises
I found my grounding through education, making decisions, meditation and chakra joga. So I like reading, discovering the chakras, and doing the exercises for each and every one. But not all at once, as I started with the first one. This is in fact what I am doing these weeks. Again, I focus on the first chakra, which in human energetic body relates to inner peace and sense of stability, safety, finding peace in a frantic world.
You can generate the warming feeling of belonging and love from within, independent of other people. What’s more, the chakras are just one of the ways to it. There are other solutions as well. Your path depends on you.
What is a chakra in simple terms
Chakras are the energy centers in your body. In Sanskrit, the word “chakra” means “disk” or “wheel”, and literally refers to the wheels or disks of spinning energy, which are associated with major organs and nerve bundles. Wikipedia states, that the word “chakra” first appeared within the Hindu Vedas (1500 – 1200 BCE). Furthermore, there are 7 major such energy centres in your body, that run along your spine and multiple smaller ones, located in your hands and other parts. The first one starts at the root of your spine and the remaining ones continue to the crown of your head.
The way the chakras influence your health
They can be opened, closed, balanced or blocked. Each one refers to a different emotional and physical part of your body. By observing your situation in different areas of your life, you can diagnose the state of the chakras. Moreover, emotional states like fear or shame, guilt, attachment, illusions are all connected to the energy centres and the good news is, that you can heal them.

The seven chakras are as follows, from bottom to top: 1. Muladhara 2. Svadhisthana 3. Nabhi-Manipura 4. Anahata 5. Vishuddhi 6. Ajna 7. Sahasrara.
The connection between chakras and peace of mind.
The first root chakra (Muladhara) is associated with the foundation in your life. With that, which is basic to all of your manifestations, safety, stability, solidity, finding peace in a frantic world. You find the fundamental peace of mind there. Indeed the energy of the first chakra governs all of these states. Anodea Judith, whom I perceive to be a global expert in the field of chakras, author of numerous books, said about the meaning of a healthy first chakra:
A person is “Grounded, stable, healthy, fit, prosperous, able to manifest abundance in life”. We can influence the state of the first chakra, heal it through visualisations, mantras, physical exercises, meditation, diet, affirmation for peaceful mind. Moreover, this energy center is totally under your control, and your emotional states with it. It is where you find peace of mind that noone can take away from you.
