EcoHealthLab uses several different types of Organic Fabrics. We offer products made of organic cotton and linen. Linen and cotton are carefully chosen, as we want our fabrics to be both delicate and durable. We use soft, light weight fabrics, and tough, strong and thick.
Organic Buckwheat hulls mattress is made of organic cotton and linen, if you choose to have the outer cover made of organic linen. The cotton used is thick and truly beautiful. Our customers who use it, keep telling us that the fabric looks and feels pure.
Whether we choose cotton or linen is based on the purpose of the product. If we create a mattress for you, we will use the tough, thick organic cotton. The fabrics is GOTS Certified, which means that it is fully organic, undyed, unbleached, safe for your skin and the environment.
Why should I choose organic fabrics
Often we see “100% cotton” on a t-shirt label. It is comforting, it gives us a sense of knowing that the piece of clothing does not contain any chemical fabrics. But is 100% cotton safe to us? If it is not organic, it is very likely not healthy.
Let me explain.
Non-organic cotton is one of the most polluted fabrics in the world. Those who create it, use insecticides and pesticides on all stages of the creation. The insectidices used amount to 25% of all globally used. They not only remain in the clothing created, but also affect biodiversity, aquatic life, pollute groundwater. The problem with conventional chemically polluted cotton is, that the clothing companies do not reveal the true facts about the process of creation.

Global initiatives taken to create more responsible fabrics

Linen
At our company we love and support minimalism. We chose fabrics, great for the organic products created to support your sleep. Organic cotton and linen. In our busy lives, we do not need more, but less. Cluttered spaces lead to stress, and what we need is rest, good feelings, creativity. Less talk, more do. No more distant unfullfilling relationships, but close friendships, this is what makes time spent with people trully meaningfull. The same applies to our sleep. Just imagine entering bedroom filled with furniture, clothes, and other unnecessary things. Would you feel relaxed?
What we trully need, is simple but beautiful space ad things… and people. Not more, but less. However, great, outstanding quality. Our time, big companies try to persuade us to believing that we need everything they produce.
