Pro health longevity Inspired by Dave Asprey
Most of us have elderly people in our lives. Grandmothers, grandfathers, friends, mentors. Those who reached their 80-ties, 90-ties, some are lucky to live to 100 years. Moreover, Wikipedia says, that: “The oldest person ever whose age has been independently verified is Jeanne Calment (1875–1997) of France, who lived to the age of 122 years, 164 days.” which is a great thought to have and wake up to. Finally, to think that life can be that long. Pro health longevity leads to coming closer and closer to that dream.
Those who live long
Among my closest friends are many who are over 80 years of age. Further, they used to have very sportive lives, spent on climbing the mountains of the world, down hill skiing in the Alps. Furthermore, sport, risk, fresh air, luck of food, made them strong. They live, but some fear death already. I mention them here, as I am lucky to be close to them, to fully understand and feel their characters, spirit, courage, chivarly, decisions, mistakes. What’s more, they were born before the II World War, and experienced that world, without computers, tvs, information overload. They saw the cities before they were bombarded and destroyed, life seemed more gentle, simply because people lived slower lives, having time for connection with another person.
The power of the bonds
Additionally, if you are in touch with them you can feel it, as the bond they share is truly touching. Further, when I talk to them, sometimes I hear their discussions about old age. When it happens, I tell them about Dave Asprey’s approach to longevity, which I consider to be revolutionary. Furthermore, in a recent interview with Vikshen Lakshani (founder and owner of MindValley) he told about his conviction that a life of 180 years of age is possible.
Now, when you look on those we see as elderly, and who are in their 80-ties and 90-ties, you suddenly realize, that if 180 is possible, just 80 years is truly not that much, and in fact can be just a half of life or two thirds. It is a different perspective.

Pro health longevity and simplicity
Longevity is closely connected to simplicity, which is a topic we come back to on a regular basis here. Simplicity in your approach to life, to the things you see as fundamental. Moreover, to the thoughts that fuel your mind, the products you choose. Dave Asprey, who looks great being in his late 40-ties, and having a history of obesity (he was a 300 pound man in the past), shows what is possible. What we want you to focus on, is the thought, that some of the ideas we see as truths of life, may be misconceptions instead. We often see hospitals as the centers of health. However, there you give your health away and expect others to deal with your issues. We are told that to reach 90 years of age is standard, a norm. Indeed it may be, but according to longevity experts, Like Asprey, or Michail Tombak (you will find his books here Health Books), 180 or 150 years of age is accessible. Supported by the correct choices made throughout your life, pro health longevity is possible.
So, what does Dave Asprey focus on:
1. Cold showers on a daily basis
2. Daily walks (at least from 15 to 30 minutes)
3. Take fasting seriously, and do a 13-16 hour fast, 3 to 4 times per week
4. Take charge of your diet (have a good look on meat you eat. Does it come from a good source, where the animals are treated with respect, are they grass fed? Eat vegetables.)
5. Make quality sleep a priority. Asprey also tested various mattresses, to find out, that the traditional buckwheat mattresses, are among the best in the world.
Simplicity is power.
We cannot stress that enough. Try each of the ideas mentioned above, for a week, and see what happens. There is magic in dedication. Our organic buckwheat mattresses are hand made with such care, that astonishes our customers. Moreover, they tell us, that they have never slept that well before.
