How can I meditate at home?
I know meditation as I have been meditating for years. Further, I know from my experience, how profoundly important meditation can be. Furthermore, it can help you transform your own emotions, deeply rooted feelings and thoughts about yourself. Moreover, it will help you expand and experience new higher emotional states and see that truly everything is possible. “How can I meditate at home?” It is easier than one may think. Let me show you how.
Different types of meditation
I will not talk about the things I do not know. But rather give you my experience, to show you what is possible. My first experience with meditation came in 2008. I was attending a course in Schumacher college, in the UK. It was a course on biomimicry, lead by the leading architects, engineers, scientists. Each morning, before we started our meetings, we sat in a room with a bell from Tibet. A woman rang the bell and we sat still in silence and darkness of the morning. For about 20 minutes. I remember, that already at that time I went to a deep state of inner stillness, that fascinated me from the beginning. It was illuminating, peaceful.
How to do meditation at home step by step
In this case, it was very simple. First: we sat in silence, cross-legged. Second, a woman hit the Tibetan singing bowl. Then, we just continued sitting, in darkness and silence. For about twenty minutes.
When we finished, breakfast was served! 🙂
Buddhist meditation
A few years later, I joined a buddhist community, the Tibetan Diamond Way. I loved each and every experience of meeting the people and meditating with them. The experience was as profound, as the first meditation in 2008. I did not have to ask: “How can I meditate at home”? because the teachers taught us to do it. I did not like everything that came with it, as some treached buddhism like a religion, which in my mind was not the way. Buddhism is a path to consciousness, greater states of mind and awareness. Not about worshipping new types of Gods.
How we meditated here:
We sat in silence, on a meditation pillow, just like an organic meditation pillow we create in our store.
Than one person, chosen at random, read a text of a particular meditation, very often it was a meditation of three lights. It is very simple, and helps you go deep into a wonderful peaceful inner state. You repeat the mantras, and continue meditating. I went to a very deep meditative state each and every time. It is something wonderful. There are different types of meditations, some are quite complex. I am coming back to Buddhism again, and it is a beautiful way. If you feel it in your heart.
There are also paths, that use meditation to alter mental states. However, they treat it like a tool. Next, You help yourself influence your own emotions, thinking, feelings. They are powerful, and truly beautiful.
The Silva Mind control system, a meditation and self-help method
Developed by Jose Silva, in Laredo, Texas in the USA. Here, you have several guided meditations that you follow. From deep relaxation meditations, to the ones with a specific task to achieve. Further, the method takes you in your meditation to deep mental states, from alpha to theta states, with lower brainwave frequencies. Moreover, the lower the frequencies, the deeper your mental state, and ability to connect with your subconscious mind and impact it. Finally, thanks to it, you can work with yourself, your memories, ideas, emotions, feelings, images and physical body.
Eventually, it helps you connect with higher intelligence and ask for guidance. Additionally, I did two trainings of the Silva Method, and each and every meditation was a profound experience. They are guided, and you hear the sound of your brainwave in the background.
There are courses that teach you how to do the meditation and you can do it yourself at home. How can I meditate at home? You can buy a meditation program from audible, called “The Silva Ultramind ESP System”, and follow the teachers.

Silva method meditation
Joe Dispenza
The fourth type of meditation I experienced in my own life was a guided meditation, created by dr Joe Dispenza, a writer, chiropractor, fascinated by the ability to heal oneself through deep mental states. Besides, he created courses and wrote books on the subject of human brain and mind, meditations and quantum physics. Moreover, he took part in a famous movie “”What the bleep do we know”, which talked about the altered staes of mind, quantum physics, the reality and our ability to influence it.
Eventually, I read his books about human brain and followed the meditations, which I do every day. It is also a guided meditation, that first relaxes you, and then leads you from the present moment, to a new emotional state or situations that you experience with all your senses while being in a deep state of altered consciousness. Finally, it is very powerful.
How can I meditate at home?
You may choose of the meditations I explained in this article, as I have experienced them in my own life, and I know that they work and are truly beautiful. Further, they bring you to new states of the mind and body, and through deep relaxation you shift your feelings from for example depression to self-love. Furthermore, it is very very possible, as many people have achieved it. But, what if you are so stressed out, that you find it nearly impossible to meditate? You may do a breathing session before, which helps you relax. Moreover, breathing sessions and meditations will make you relaxed, which in turn helps you sleep better.
Guided and free meditations
In this article, I mentioned four different types of meditation. Two of which are free, and two are guided (in which you a voice teling you images, and your mind follows, yet the instructions are brief, and you have the space to imagine that which matters to you). The free meditations, the first and second from these I explaned here, take you to an unexplored lands, more than the guided ones. You may be surprised by what happens. I remember, when I meditated three times a day following the Diamond way Buddhism meditations, and each time diving into my mind, I started feeling truly amazing feelings.
This is what happens when you go into unknown. Moreover, if you ask yourself a question “How can I meditate at home”, you are already entering this amazing space of new experiences. If I was to give yoy a piece of advice, I would suggest doing one free meditation and one guided, until you decide which suits you better. They give you different experiences, both are very interesting. I wish you luck in finding your own meditation, as it is worth the effort.
